Topic: Another new expansion

... and we haven't even recovered from the last one yet.

CCP have announced the next expansion, due to be unleashed upon us in the summer - http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=733

Despite the catchy title of Tyrannis, sadly this expansion would not appear to feature dinosaurs shooting lasers from their eyes sad

On the other hand, we get to farm planets.

I'm sure the first question that springs to mind  is whether we get to deathray settlements from orbit  lol

Second question is of course... OMG, what will they break this time?!?  tongue

But it looks like CCP is continuing in their drive to attract different player demographics to EVE, this time aiming for what appears to be the sims/civilisation market perhaps? Remains to be seen how this will change the overall feel of EVE, the tone on the forums etc.

There is also a short paragraph on fixing the lag.

That‘s right, you will finally be able to survey for juicy deposits of minerals and other goodies, build infrastructure to harvest them, store them, process them and launch them into space

More can flipping, hooray!

Is there combat on planets?

No, not in this expansion. This expansion is about exploration and industry. When something goes bad or breaks it is because of the owner‘s mismanagement, and when things are awesome and perfect, it is because of skill and hard labor on part of the player that runs the facilities.

In future expansions you will be able to project military force for attack and defense of planetary installations. That will be where DUST 514 will connect with EVE.

yea DUST 514  due out this year smile i am glad give me sumat else to play other than mw2 and bad company 2
